Abstract: In this talk, we review two recent progress on non-local curvature flows of curves in the Euclidean plane. The topic includes Gage's area-preserving flow of embedded curves and our partial solutions to Yau's problem that asks whether one can realize Whitney-Graustein homotopy via a curvature flow. Further related problems will be also discussed.
